Our Greensheets are available below, with all the latest news and information from around the school.
Our school newsletter started life in 1906 as part of the
‘Old Girls’ Association’ and was called "Iris".
Since 1974 we have had the ‘Greensheet,’ which celebrates achievements and shares news about the school. More recently, we have launched the ‘Alumnae News,’ which has articles from both past and present staff and pupils.
Here is an extract from the first edition of the Iris in 1906, announcing the formation of the association and magazine:-
Walthamstow High School Old Girls’ Association
At a reunion of former pupils, held at the Walthamstow High School on Friday it was decided to form an "Old Girls' Association." The object of the Society is to keep a common interest between Girls who are leaving School; to arrange for two meetings a year, when old associations may be renewed and to publish a magazine to tell of what is being done by past and present W.H.S. Girls, and contributions from members.
