Walthamstow School for Girls

E-Safety

At Walthamstow School for Girls our e-Safety policy is designed to keep our students safe in the online world and to maintain a secure school network.  As well as making use of the London Grid for Learning filters and antivirus software we also use software that allows the teacher to monitor all devices during a lesson.

However no system is completely secure and we still need our students to behave responsibly in accordance with the Student Acceptable Use Policy (AUP.)  We also request that parents and carers fulfil their role in monitoring their child’s online behaviour keeping in mind that most online and social media interactions are done by mobile phone in any location rather than on a fixed home device.

Links to our policy documents and external advice are listed below.

CEOP is a command of the National Crime Agency, and is dedicated to tackling the sexual abuse and exploitation of children and young people.  CEOP is here to help young people (up to age 18) who have been forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity with anyone online or in the  real world. They also offer advice and links to support in response to other online problems young people might face, such as cyberbullying or  hacking. For information, advice and to report concerns directly to CEOP, visit the Safety Centre by clicking on the Click CEOP button below.
