Welcome Message

Dear Year 6 students

Welcome to your school!

We are really looking forward to having you join us at Walthamstow School for Girls and I am certain your time here will be both happy and successful!

As you prepare to move up to secondary school, and enter the next stage of your education, I'm sure you will be feeling a mixture of excitement and uncertainty.  Rest assured that we will be here to support you through your learning journey.  You will also be supported by your form tutor, who will be with you every morning for registration.  Tutorial time is an opportunity to spend time getting to know your fellow tutees. You will be participating in a range of planned registration activities and you will also have Year 11 Peer Mentors coming in once a week to help answer any questions or concerns you have about starting at secondary school and to make you feel even more welcome!

There will be a variety of clubs and extra-curricular opportunities available to you at Walthamstow School for Girls and I would encourage you to get involved in as many as possible.  It is a great way to meet new friends and to make a greater contribution to school life.

Your teachers are really looking forward to teaching you when you join us.  Learning is highly valued by all members of our school community.  Please do take the time to read through the subject areas so you know what to expect when you come here in September.

I'd like to remind you to complete your 'Moving On Up' booklet and bring it with you on the first day of school.  If you aren't able to print it out, please send it to our email address info@wsfg.waltham.sch.uk
and we will arrange to have it printed and ready for you when you join us!

Until we see you in September, stay safe!

Best wishes
