Year 9 Trip to the Holocaust Exhibition – Imperial War Museum

On Thursday 8th May, 30 Year 9 students visited the Imperial War Museum in London to explore the Holocaust Galleries as part of their history studies. The visit provided a powerful and moving insight into one of the darkest periods of human history.
Students engaged thoughtfully with the museum's comprehensive and sensitive exhibition, which traces the rise of Nazi power and the impact of the Holocaust on individuals, communities, and nations. They were particularly struck by the personal stories and artefacts on display, which brought the historical events to life in a deeply human way.
The visit also included a workshop led by a Holocaust educator, who guided students through key themes such as identity, propaganda and remembrance. The students represented the school with maturity and respect throughout the day, asking insightful questions and demonstrating great empathy and curiosity.

"The history trip last Thursday was an amazing experience, it allowed us to understand more about the lives of people affected by the Holocaust. Everyone who came on the trip enjoyed it and was grateful they were selected to go on it. The Holocaust is a difficult topic so we all were very respectful and understood what happened and how people where affected. We all now have further insight into what happened and can acknowledge the people's hardships."
