Year 11 students at Walthamstow School for Girls returned to collect their GCSE results, welcomed by the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and many supportive teachers.

This year’s results continue to demonstrate strong progress and achievement at WSFG, with 66% of students achieving a grade 5 or above in English and Maths. Overall performance remains strong, with 64% of students achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English and Maths, and 81% achieving grade 4 or above.

Among this year’s high achievers are:

EM: 9 grades 7–9, including 7 grade 9s. She will study Maths, Further Maths, Physics and English Literature at Harris Academy, Westminster.

HR: 10 grades 7–9, including eight grade 9s. She will study at LAE Tottenham.

LS: 9 grades 7–9, including six grade 9s. She plans to study Biology, Psychology and Sociology at LASWAP.

LL: 9 grades 7–9, including six grade 9s.

When asked what advice they would give to next year’s Year 11 students, the Year 11s encouraged them to stay focused, work consistently, make time to enjoy themselves and, above all, have confidence in themselves.

The Headteacher remarked:

“We are incredibly proud of all our students and the achievements they have made. A huge thank-you goes to our dedicated staff, who have worked tirelessly to support Year 11 throughout their time at WSfG, and to our parents/carers and families for their continued encouragement and support. Our students’ success is truly the result of a strong community working together.

“Today is an opportunity to celebrate not only academic achievement, but also the personal growth and development of our students during their time at WSfG. They are a remarkable group of young women who have demonstrated courage, compassion, creativity and determination.

“I wish all our students every success as they begin the next chapter of their educational journeys. We look forward to hearing about all they achieve and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.”
