Thank You from the “Shoes for PA Schmidt School” Appeal

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our students, families, and staff, we have successfully collected 10 full crates of shoes for the PA Schmidt School in Maltahöhe, Namibia. 

This initiative was launched to support children who walk long distances to school—often barefoot—across rough desert terrain. Despite the hot climate, early mornings in the Namibian desert can be bitterly cold, making proper footwear essential for both comfort and safety. Maltahöhe is a small town with high levels of poverty and unemployment. Many children live in hostels away from their families and face daily challenges that most of us can only imagine.  

Donations poured in from all corners of our school family and the collection baskets in the Hewett Hall filled up quickly. We’re pleased to share that the donated shoes are now being transferred into shipping boxes, ready for collection and transport to Namibia. This marks the final stage of our school’s involvement before the shoes begin their journey to the children who need them most.
