Headteacher’s Black History Month Competition Winners

As part of WSfG's Black History Month celebrations, students were invited to take part in a creative competition inspired by the theme: “Standing Firm in Power and Pride.”

We’re proud to announce this year’s winners:

· Amirah 9W created a powerful painting, which captured the spirit of strength and pride.

· Imaan 9C won for her video on Beryl Gilroy, one of Britain’s first Black headteachers. Her presentation highlighted Gilroy’s resilience and achievements, showing how she stood firm in the face of adversity and inspired generations through education and literature.

Both entries demonstrated outstanding creativity and an understanding of the importance of Black history. Congratulations to Amirah and Imaan for their exceptional work and thank you to everyone who took part.
