Year 11 Information 2025-26

I would be very grateful if you could share details of our upcoming 4^th March open evening with your Year 11 students and their families.

We know that many students still aren’t sure about their post-16 options and some need to have more than one option. The open evening is the perfect opportunity for students and their parents to find out about life at SFX. All our teachers will be available to offer advice on our many sixth form options and our student ambassadors will be taking visitors on tours of the campus – as well as answering any questions they may have!

We know that some students should be considering options other than sixth form at school, so this is an excellent opportunity for them to find out what courses we offer and the grades required for entry. Students and parents/carers can register for the open evening here.

Big Creative Education has launched a new application process for this academic year for students wishing to apply for courses for September 2026. The new process is simple and easy to use and allows interested applicants to either; Apply online and upload examples of creative work or a self tape that demonstrates their passion for their chosen course or Request an online interview with a BCE subject lead The process is simple and can be completed on any computer or mobile phone. Did you know that you do not need any specific GCSE’s in creative subjects to apply? EXAMPLE of a Self Tape Your self tape should show off your passion for the course you are applying for. We have four Open Evenings planned for 2026, and the original dates were shared with you in September. However, we have since decided to move the events back by a couple of weeks. Our revised dates are as follows:

• Thursday 26th March
• Thursday 23rd April

Please find attached an updated flyer with the new dates for your reference.

In addition, we have recently updated our application process. Young people can now complete an online application without the need for a face-to-face interview. Applicants are able to submit their application before receiving their mock exam results and can update us once their results become available. Cinema KLERB:

A passionate community for Film & TV lovers.

Every month there will be a new film or TV series to watch based on a different theme for that month, some catered to special holidays happening e.g October will be Halloween themed, December will be festive!

Come along to the cinema screen at LSA and enjoy the games, snacks and discussions with other film lovers. This is for ages 13 - 16 (Years 9,10 and 11). KLERB is on Thursday 4th December from (4:00 - 6:15pm)

Taster Days for school students Our Taster Days give Year 10 and 11 students the chance to experience what it’s like to study with us. They take part in practical, hands-on sessions such as floral design led by our tutors and get to see our learning environments. Our next Taster Days will be in April and will focus on environmental conservation and horticulture.

Saturday 21 March 2026 Studying with us goes beyond the classroom to the outdoors and our Open Days are a great way to get a feel for what studying with us is like.   Explore our campuses on Saturday 21 March from 10am to 3pm and enjoy talks, tours, demonstrations and fun activities. Tutors and our Admissions team are also on-hand to provide course and application advice.
